The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was peaceful with lots of space to relax and the food in the restaurant was outstanding.
The room that we had (standard double) was beautifully appointed but quite small.

The hotel is very comfortable and the staff are exceptionally helpful. It is set in a beautiful location on the river Usk and there are beautiful walks in the hotel grounds and the immediate area.

It is set in a most glorious position with wonderful views and splendid grounds. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was reassuring that the owners ate with the visitors in the Dining Room also. Both Dinners were superb, breakfasts almost as good! I have already recommended it to family and friends and hope to return one day.

Didn't like the menu(s) this time round (visited last year [2009] and loved the food then).

Stayed in Rm 2 and the view from the balcony was great. A bit of river on the left and a mountain side right in front. The wine list was good. Fire place in the bar was nice.
The shower was not great. Hot and cold control was a bit difficult to control. The food was excellent but not cheap. Afternoon tea was 12£ but not great. Buffet style with no table service.

The peacefulness of surroundings and the planting added to the already luxurious presentation and decoration within the hotel.
We did not have a kettle on arrival in our room. Kettle duly replaced with a very dirty lead and comments as to they did not know where the original kettle had gone. I am disabled and had to walk upstairs to get to our room. Positively my luggage was taken to the room.

Attended a wedding and found that the whole day ran so smoothly and the staff were very friendly and accommadating, nothing appeared to be too much trouble to them. Not only was it good service but the food served was excellent!!! Planning to book for our Anniversary next year.
Only fault to be found was that the shower in the room we were allocated had no hot water on the morning of departure? however we did not make any complaint about this as we were so impressed overall
